Installation
Overview
A simplified Veeder-Root vacuum sensor installation in an STP containment sump is shown in Figure 1.Vac Sensor
(VS) and Vac Float (VF) modules are assembled in a housing which is shown in Figure 2.A separate mounting
bracket (see Figure 2) is easily attached to the STP riser to support the Vac Sensor housing. Approximately 12
inches (304.8mm) of clearance is required below the pump manifold for the Vac Sensor components. Final
vacuum connections are made once the housing and bracket are in place. A 1/4" NPT port into the interstitial
space of the double-wall vapor return line, double-wall product line, and/or double-wall containment sump must be
accessible in the containment sump. For installations requiring tank interstice monitoring, a riser must be in the
same containment sump for the tank interstitial sensor. Field wiring connections of the Vac Sensor components
are sealed in a customer supplied containment sump junction box (JB).
Seal off STP
Barbed fitting in siphon
port for vacuum source
To console
Product line
Dual weatherproof junction vacuum fitting
boxes w/cord grip wiring
entries containing epoxy
sealed connections
•
Double wall sump """ '"" "' _ Vapor return line
vacuum fitting' vacuum fitting
If multiple ports are provided •
in the sump wall,install
vacuum fitting in lowest one.
Double wall tank .............. :
Wiring from sensor in Tank interstitial
tank interstice connects Four Vac Sensor
to vac sensor in J box vacuum fittings Housing Assembly
bracketed to riser vacsensorWacseninslall.eps
Figure 1.
