Stericycle <br />ExpertSUSTAINABILITY <br />StrongPak <br />Action: <br />Each store involved in this special waste process will receive an initial visit from a StrongPak representative to <br />set up a special receptacle for placing this waste. <br />• Each StrongPak representative is required to provide appropriate identification. Follow all policies and <br />procedures regarding access to the pharmacy. <br />• The receptacle will initially be set up by the StrongPak representative. <br />• The receptacle will be lined. <br />• The StrongPak representative will leave additional liners in the event they are needed in between <br />visits. <br />• Place the designated receptacle in the pharmacy in an area out of view of customers. <br />• Document store information and date in the areas on the card located inside the sleeve on the front of the <br />receptacle. <br />o The date on the card identifies when the accumulation of P -Listed waste began. <br />• Begin placing waste into the designated receptacle. <br />o Any PHI must be de -identified. <br />Any returned to stock product that is not in the original packaging, past expiration date and has no <br />value are considered waste and should be placed inside the receptacle. This includes OTC products <br />used in the pharmacy. <br />o All items should be placed inside a StrongPak self-sealing bags prior to being placed inside the <br />receptacle including: <br />■ Warfarin or Coumadin Stock Botdes or prescription vials <br />■ Any loose non -controlled substance tablets <br />■ Damaged Nicotine products <br />■ Waste generated from compounds <br />• Only open the receptacle to deposit waste. Maintain closed when not in use. <br />• A StrongPak representative will visit your store to inspect and evaluate and get your <br />feedback on the process. <br />• In between visits, if the receptacle becomes full: <br />• Remove the liner and tie off. <br />• Keep the sealed liner in the pharmacy area until the StrongPak representative returns. <br />• StrongPak will coordinate a collection pick up (frequency will be based on the inspection process). <br />StrongPak Retail On -Site waste Management Systems <br />6264 Crooked Creels Road, Norcross, GA 30092 <br />800.778.7664 www_Stencyde.com 2 <br />
