HAZARDOUS WASTE STORAGE AREA <br />WHAT TO DO <br />TO PROPERLY HANDLE AND DISPOSE OF <br />CONSUMER PRODUCT WASTE <br />1. Waste material is define <br />as: <br />• Spilled product <br />• Damaged product <br />2. Identify the product and <br />use the examples and <br />code system below to <br />dispose of the material. <br />Call 1 (877) 542-5923 <br />with any questions. <br />d <br />4. Batteries must have <br />tape placed over the <br />job terminals prior to <br />being placed in the <br />storage container. Any <br />items placed in the <br />Oxidizer tote may not <br />have paper or absorbent <br />in the sealed bag with <br />the waste material. <br />Bag these materials <br />3. Place the material separately. <br />UPRIGHT in the 2 <br />gallon clear plastic bag in <br />the supply tote. If leaking, <br />add an absorbent pad. <br />CORROSIVE/ACID <br />Waste Only <br />Pool Acids <br />Lime and Scale Removers <br />Silver Cleanser <br />Tarnish remover <br />j��ISK"1 <br />■ Pool Chlorine <br />■ Hydrogen Peroxide <br />■ Bleach <br />■ Hair Bleach/Hair Dye <br />(containing hydrogen peroxide) <br />■ Chlorine Tablets <br />(never mix with a liquid) <br />5. Fold the bag and seal. <br />Verify that it is closed and <br />not leaking. Do not store <br />more than one type of <br />material in the same bag. <br />CORROSIVE/BASE <br />ALKALINE <br />Waste Only <br />Drain Openers <br />Lye <br />Ammonia <br />Degreasers, Cleansers <br />Consumer Batteries <br />(ALKALINE, NICAe, LITHIUM, NIMH) <br />Detergents, Soaps, Hand <br />Soaps <br />■ Pesticides <br />■ Insecticides <br />■ Rodenticides <br />■ Moth Balls <br />■ Over the Counter Medicines <br />■ Antifreeze <br />Place the bagged <br />material UPRIGHT in the <br />correctly designated tote. <br />6. If the material is from a <br />spill, clean up and if less <br />than 1 gallon, always <br />wear PPE when handling. <br />Follow steps 2 through 4, <br />Place the sealed plastic <br />bag into a second plastic <br />bag and place UPRIGHT <br />in the correctly <br />designated tote. <br />7.
