Your letter proposed two (2) courses of action for Valley Motors to consider.
Frank R.Perrott
Mikki M.Riella
Corinne K.Reynolds The first option is to limit the present activities to periodic groundwater monitoring of `
Edward P.Murphy the existing three walls. During our recent conversation, you indicated that at least an
Bruce J.Boehm
John R.Conger annual monitoring would be necessary to satisfy this passive approach. This
Neal C.Lutterman monitoring would be done at a the first part of each year resulting in a report on your
Bradley J.Swingle -
desk by March 1st of each year. If semi-annual monitoring is required, then we
*Also Admitted In Nevada would conduct an additional monitoring in July of each year resulting in a report on
your desk .v August 1st.
It is Valley Motor's intent to pursue the second option, which would attempt to satisfy
the objectives outlined in your letter: identify the petroleum sources, locate any
potential surface or underground receptors that might be threatened by future
movement of the contaminants, and finish mapping the extent of groundwater
contamination. It has been estimated that this cost will exceed Fifteen Thousand
Dollars ($15,000.00) which would be difficult for this small business if funding is not
obtained.from the Underground. Storage Tank Fund as soon as possible. Given this
second and+more aggressive plan, we would have a work plan on your desk by
September 30, 1997, unless due to financial restraints We are forced to pursue the
400 east Main street first option outlined in this Letter of Intent. Then, we would expect to conduct the
i
Stockton,California groundwater monitoring in the first part of 1998, resulting in a report to you as
9S290-o600 outlined above.
PHONE(209)464-8732
FAX(209)464-9i6S
81029.1
