PUBLIC'i4EALTH SERNI/ CES a,N
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DIVISION = '
Ernest M. Fujimoto, M.D., M.P.H., Acting Health Officer
445 N. Main St.
Stockton, Ca. 95202
As a result of the administration hearing held on February 23, 1995, San Joaquin County Public Health Services,
Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and your representatives have mutually agreed upon a plan that your
site's investigation will follow.
It was agreed that either one monitoring well or multiple "push" points will be installed and groundwater "grab"
samples will be obtained. The location of the monitoring well will be in the area known to contain the highest
levels of TPH-G, TPH-D, and BTEX. The locations of the multiple "push" points will be at this same area plus
other areas that will provide upgradient and downgradient groundwater data.
A workplan describing one of these two methods is to be submitted to PHS-EHD by June 1, 1995.
PHS-EHD recommends that soil samples be obtained and analyzed at depths where previous investigations have
shown soil contamination exists. This data will help to define the lateral limits of the soil plume. PHS-EHD will
only require solvent analyses of the soil or groundwater if it is your intention to indicate that any contamination
found is not from your underground tank.
PHS-EHD will be expanding the search for prior tank owners and operators and will provide you with any
information that may effect your status as the sole responsible party.
Thank you for your willingness to meet with us and your understanding of our concerns. With such cooperation,
it will be much easier to better evaluate your site and determine what remediation, if any, will be needed.
Please direct your concerns and any questions you may have to Michael Inf ima at (209) 468-3454.
Donna Heran, RENS, Director
Enviro ental Health Division
Michael Infurna, Senior REHS Diane M.
