Main St. RO#: 594
Stockton, CA 95202 CUF#: 12540
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed First
Quarter- 2006 Report dated January 27, 2006 submitted by Upgradient Environmental
Consultants (UEC) and has the following comments.
Included in the report recommendations was a request to delete Total Petroleum
Hydrocarbons as Diesel (TPHd) and fuel oxygenates from the analytical protocol.
EHD was unable to evaluate this request without the chromatograms for these
constituents and requested they be submitted. EHD has evaluated the chromatograms
for TPHd and the fuel oxygenates and has determined that analyses for these
constituents is no longer needed for this UST site investigation.
You may delete TPHd analysis by EPA Method 8015m and EtBE, TAME, DIPE,
methanol, ethanol, EDB, and 1,2-DCA analyses by EPA Method 8260B from your
sampling and reporting requirements.
Due to residual MtBE and TBA detections in wells VM-1, VM-4, and SW-1, EHD wants
to monitor the concentration trends in these constituents as soil vapor extraction(SVE)
and insitu air sparing (IAS) continue at the site. In order to evaluate the remedial
effectiveness, you are directed to annually analyze the ground water samples from
VM-1, VM-4, and SWA for MtBE and TBA by EPA Method 82606. VM-2 is to be
analyzed for TPH as motor oil annually by EPA Method 8015m. Lead may also be
reduced to annually sampling and reporting. EHD requires these analyses be
performed during the second quarter of each year when ground water is at its
seasonal highest level.
Please continue to upload all EDF data starting from 2001 to Geotracker and the
complete Quarterly Monitoring Reports (QMRs) to Geotracker as Geo_Reports starting
with January 2005. Quarterly Remedial Status Reports for the SVE and IAS operation
must also be uploaded as Geo Reports if not included in the QMRs.
