Main St <br /> Stockton, CA 95202 <br /> Soil contamination was documented at this site on October 22, 1990 when two underground storage tanks were <br /> removed Soil samples were collected and the results confirmed that the soil is contaminated An <br /> investigation is required to determine the extent of contamination still remaining <br /> A workplan must be submitted within ninety (90) days of the date of this letter to San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) that addresses the methods to be utill7ed to <br /> determine the extent of soil contamination and investigate if groundwater beneath the site has been impacted <br /> Please utilize the "Regional Board Staff Recommendations For Initial Evaluation and Investigation of <br /> Underground Tanks" and 'Appendix A" reporting format and the "LUFP Manual" in the preparation of <br /> workplan and reports <br /> Sites seeking reimbursement under the cleanup fund are required to obtain multiple bids for each phase of <br /> • investigation and actual remediation processes and to be in compliance with directives issued by PHS/EHD <br /> Questions regarding the bidding process and the cleanup fund should be directed to Susan Phillips of the State <br /> Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) at (916) 227-4366 <br /> Workplan, correspondence and questions concerning site cleanup and directives by PHS/BHD should be <br /> directed to Michael Infurna, Senior RENS, of my staff at (209) 468-3454. <br /> Yogi Khanna, M D.
