It appears chat the wastewater alone should
provide more than enough nutrient for corn-oats. I am enclosing a copy of my calculations.
T recommend that rates of nutrient application be based on analytical data as follows:
1. Sample wastewater and manure periodically and accurately to determine the N,P`and K content.
2. Determine volume of wastewater applied to the cropland.
3. Calculate the pounds of N,P and K per acre.
4. Test soils at least annually for at least N,P and K. Complete soil tests provide i4ortaut
information.
5. Consider plant tissue anatyais during the growing season.
Manure or wastewater inexcess of crop needs shotild be exported or applied to additional cropland.
Excess rates of nutrient can not only threaten water quality, but can be repressive to crop growth.
It is my understanding that there is a name change'plartrted for the property on which dairy waste is being
applied. This name change does not adversely effect the waste loading as long as the acreage of
cropland on which dairy waste is applied is not decreased-
If you have any questions Concerning this matter, please call me at(916)255-3110_
L01AS F.
