k" KL ElNFELDER
PERCOLATION TEST RESULTS
Test Number Depth (Feet) Percolation Rate(minutes per inch)
P-1 3 15
P-2 5% _ 6
San Joaquin County requires that an approximate 3-foot deep test percolate at a maximum rate of
60 minutes per inch in order to use standard leach lines. If a 3-foot deep test fails, the County
requires that a soil strata with a maximum percolation rate of 30 minutes per inch be located in
order the use a sump pit. Both the tests performed at this site produced passing tests.
The current regional groundwater depth map published by the San Joaquin County Flood Control
and Water Conservation District indicates the depth of groundwater in the site area was
approximately 110 to 120 feet in spring 1998. We note that our scope of services did not include
a detailed evaluation of the potential for the septic systems to affect the quality of the
groundwater; however, the project involves the possibility of only one additional septic System
within the site. Therefore, with groundwater estimated at approximately 110 to 120 feet deep, in
our opinion the likelihood of a significant change in the nitrate level of the groundwater beneath
the site, because of one additional septic system, is remote.
This completes our scope of services at this time. Based on the above information, it is our
opinion that the site is suitable for septic system use. The septic systems should be located and
any future wells should be constructed following County guidelines.
We trust this letter presents the information required at this time. If you have any questions
regarding this letter please contact us.
Respectfully submitted,
KLEINFELDER, INC.
Steven R.
