4.0 REGULATORY RESEARCH
4.1 Introduction
Research of agency files, City directories and historical aerial photographs was conducted
in order to determine prior usage of the site in addition to the potential impact that
nearby facilities which reported underground storage tank (UST) leaks may have on the
subject site. A request of available Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps was also made to
Environmental Risk Information & Imaging Services (ERIIS) of Alexandria, Virginia.
However, no maps were available for the subject site area. Finally, historical aerial
photographs were requested from ERIIS to illustrate prior land usage. These
photographs have not yet been received. Upon receipt and review, all photographs will
be forwarded in addition to any new conclusions which may then be warranted. The
following details files reviewed in addition to conversations with City Department of
Building and Safety, Fire Prevention Department, and History Museum personnel.
4.2 San Joaquin County Environmental Health Services (EHS)
Based on information identified during the May 1991 Phase I Environmental Site
Assessment on the subject site performed by Berlogar Geotechnical Associates, files for
three facilities which reported UST leaks and are located within a 2,500-foot radius were
requested from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Services (EHS).
