k4 KLEINFELDER
5 HISTORY OF THE SITE
Kleinfelder researches several sources for historical land use information. The purpose of the
research is to provide general land use history for the last 50 years using aerial photographs,
interviews, Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps, City Directories and title information (if provided by
client). The following describes the information revealed by the sources.
5.1 AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY
A review of historical aerial photographs may indicate past activities at a property that may not
be documented by other means, or observed during a property visit. The effectiveness of this
technique depends on the scale and quality of the photographs and the available coverage.
Kleinfelder reviewed available aerial photographs at the San Joaquin County Public Works and
within the Kleinfelder archives. The aerial photographs reviewed for the assessment are
described below in Table 4.
TABLE 4
AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHS
Date Photo ID Scale Type Quality
19;7 ABD-40-10 1 inch=660 black and white, good
feet monoscopic
1952 ABD-2K-107 1 inch=660 black and white, good
feet monoscopic
1963 ABD-2CC-239 1 inch=660 black and white, good
feet monoscopic
1975 5197-89 1 inch=2,000 black and white, good
feet monoscopic
1983 153L i inch=400 blueline, good
feet monoscopic
Project Site
The subject site has a single structure present, the structure appears to be a rural residence in the
aerial photographs dated 1937 through 1963. The 1975 and 1983 aerial photographs show the
subject site as having two structures, which appeared to be a rural residence and a barn. There
are large amounts of tree coverage in the area of the residence. There appears to be automobiles
parked around the area. A wood storage area is located to the south of the residence. A possible
propane tank is also located south of the residence.
20-4328-01.P01/2019R556 Page 14 of 21
Copyright 1999,Kleinfelder,Inc. July 6, 1999
