k4 KLEINFELDER 5 HISTORY OF THE SITE Kleinfelder researches several sources for historical land use information. The purpose of the research is to provide general land use history for the last 50 years using aerial photographs, interviews, Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps, City Directories and title information (if provided by client). The following describes the information revealed by the sources. 5.1 AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY A review of historical aerial photographs may indicate past activities at a property that may not be documented by other means, or observed during a property visit. The effectiveness of this technique depends on the scale and quality of the photographs and the available coverage. Kleinfelder reviewed available aerial photographs at the San Joaquin County Public Works and within the Kleinfelder archives. The aerial photographs reviewed for the assessment are described below in Table 4. The 1975 and 1983 aerial photographs show the subject site as having two structures, which appeared to be a rural residence and a barn. There are large amounts of tree coverage in the area of the residence. There appears to be automobiles parked around the area. A wood storage area is located to the south of the residence.
