K L E I N F E L D E R
S HISTORY OF THE SITE
Kleinfelder researches several sources for historical land use information. The purpose of the
research is to provide general land use history for the last 50 years using aerial photographs,
interviews, Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps, City Directories and title information (if provided by
client). The following describes the information revealed by the sources.
5.1. AERIAL PHOTOGRAPI-IY
4 A review of historical aerial photographs may indicate past activities at a property that may not
be documented by other means. or observed during a property visit. The effectiveness of this
technique depends on the scale and quality of the photographs and the available coverage.
Kleinfelder reviewed available aerial photographs at the San Joaquin County Public Works and
Kleinfelder archives. The aerial photographs reviewed for the assessment are described below in
- Table 4.
TABLE 4
^LRIAL PHOTOGRAPHS
Date Photo ID Scale Type Quality
1937 ABD-41-71 I inch = 660 feet black and white, good
monoscopic
1952 ABD-3K-55 1 inch = 660 feet black and white, good
monoscopic
1963 ABD-3CC-I 12 1 inch = 660 feet black and white, good
monoscopic
1975 5197-486(Q-15) 1 inch = 2,000 feet black and white, good
i monoscopic
1983 06077-183-2561- 1 inch =400 feet blueline, good
monoscopic
1995 088-365-09 1 1 inch = 2.000 feet black and white, good
` monoscopic
I
l Project Site
The subject site is visible as Iallow ag,ricultural land, open range or dry crop grain in the aerial
photographs dated 1937 through 1963.
