inches of fine gravel at the bottom. of the borehole. The hole is then pre-soaked with water at
least 24 hours prior to performing the test. The test is performed by adding up to a maximwn of
24 inches of water above the gravel in the Bole. From a fixed reference point, the drop in water
level is measured in approximately 30-minute intervals for four hours, refilling as necessary to
maintain the prescribed amount of water over the gravel. Under the observation of a sanitarian
from the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division
(SJCPHS/EHD), the last 30-minute reading of the four hour period is recorded and used to
calculate the percolation rate in minutes per inch. The estimated percolation rates are
summarized below. A, copy of our field percolation test results signed by a representative from
SJCPHS/EHD is attached. The August 28 inspection was performed by Steven Shih and the
September 9 inspection by Johnny Yoakum.
It was assumed that the percolation test results arc representative of the subsurface conditions in
the general area of the tests. Based on these results, it is our opinion that a conventional system
with seepage pits at the end of the leach line can be used on this property. Due to the variability
of the soils encountered at this site,we recommend that seepage pits extend 25 feet below grade.
This completes the scope of work requested. Our work was performed in general accordance
with the standard of care that exists in San Joaquin County. No other guarantee or warranty,
expressed or implied,is made.
