The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has received and reviewed
Monitored Natural Attenuation Work Plan, dated 24 January 2014, and Groundwater Monitoring Report
- Third and Fourth Quarters 2013, dated 15 January 2014, prepared and submitted by your consulting
firm, Conestoga-Rovers ssooiates (CRA), on your behalf for the above-referenced site.
In Monitored—Natural Attenuation Work Plan, CRA proposed utilization of some of the existing
monitoring well network to monitor the effectiveness of natural attenuation for addressing the residual
gasoline constituents in groundwater. CRA will monitor and sample the monitoring wells on a
semiannual basis and continue the approved monitoring schedule program. In addition to the current
analytical suite, groundwater samples will be analyzed for dissolved oxygen (DO), oxidation-reduction
potential (ORP), alkalinity, nitrate, sulfate, methane, manganese, and ferrous iron, and carbon dioxide.
CRA will report field activities, the acquired groundwater monitoring data, and their natural attenuation
evaluation in a report of findings.
The EHD concurs with the proposed scope of work presented by CRA. If the proposed evaluation of
natural attenuation has favorable results, submit the findings in a Corrective Action Plan (CAP) for
remediating impacted groundwater.
In Groundwater Monitoring Report- Third and Fourth Quarters 2013, CRA proposed that monitor wells
/ W-17 and MW-18 be sampled on a semiannual basis with the other site wells during the second and
fourth quarters. CRA proposes to begin the sampling during the second quarter of 2014. The EHD
approves the proposed sampling schedule presented by CRA. In addition, data for vapor extraction well
45$'VM49L-6.Qwas omitted in the Groundwater Monitoring Report- Third and Fourth Quarters 2013 submit this
if`V data in future monitoring reports.
