AEGIS ENVIRONMENTAL , INC .
1050 Melody Lane, Suite 160, Roseville,CA 95678 ♦ 916•782-21101916 •969-21101 FAX 916•786-7830
February 17, 1993
Mr. Ronald D. Slate
Trustee
Post Office Box 609
Lodi, California 95241
Subject: Parking Area For PIP Printing
6123 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Slate:
The San Joaquin County Department of Environmental Health has requested Shell Oil
Company (Shell) investigate soil and groundwater conditions in the vicinity of the Shell
service station located at 6131 Pacific Avenue in Stockton.
In response to the agency's request, Aegis Environmental, Inc. (Aegis), on behalf of Shell,
requests permission (right of entry) to drill and install a groundwater monitoring well in the
parking area of the subject site.
The location of the proposed groundwater monitoring well is shown on Figure 1. The well
would be drilled and installed to about 65 feet below the surface using a truck-mounted
drilling rig. Drilling and installation of the well would take approximately 5 hours. The
finished wellhead would be covered by an unobtrusive, 12-inch-diameter, traffic-rated
metal enclosure mounted flush with the asphalt paving. Three similar groundwater
monitoring wells are currently located at the Shell site. Following installation, groundwater
samples would be collected from the well at 3-month intervals.
Every effort will be made to expedite the fieldwork and minimize any inconvenience to the
retail tenants. Aegis has enclosed a right-of-entry agreement for your review and
signature. Please make a copy of the agreement for your use and forward the original
to Aegis.
90-020W.LTR
GEOLOGISTS • ENGINEERS • GROUNDWATER SCIENTISTS
