C A M B R I A
Monitoring Well installation: The monitoring wells will be constructed of two-inch diameter
threaded Schedule 40 PVC well casing. Approximately 15 feet of screen will be placed in the
wells, with the screen placed at least 10 feet below and five feet above the top of the
groundwater table. The sandpack will be placed along the length of the well screen up to two
feet above the top of the well screen followed by a one-foot thick bentonite seal. A cement-
grout seal will be placed above the bentonite seal to grade. The well will be secured with a
locking cap under a traffic-rated well box. A well completion report will be prepared for each
groundwater monitoring well. Wellhead elevations and locations of the newly installed wells,
© as well as the existing wells, will be surveyed by a State of California licensed surveyor.
Groundwater Sampling: Groundwater samples will be collected from the soil borings with
CPT groundwater sampling equipment. We propose collecting groundwater samples at
10-foot intervals beneath first encountered groundwater. This sampling strategy may be
altered in the field depending on the lithology encountered during drilling.
Groundwater samples will also be collected from the newly installed wells after they have been
• properly developed. Blaine Tech Services of San Jose, California will develop and sample the
wells after the wells have been installed.
Groundwater samples will be contained in approved sample containers, labeled, entered onto a
chain-of-custody record and placed into a cooler with ice for transport to a State of
California certified laboratory for analysis.
Chemical Analyses: Groundwater samples and selected soil samples will be analyzed for total
petroleum hydrocarbon as gasoline (TPHg) by EPA Method 8015 (modified), benzene,
toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes, (BTEX) and MTBE by EPA Method 8020. Groundwater
samples will also be analyzed for fuel oxygenates (TAME, ETBE, TBA, DIPE, and MTBE)
by EPA Method 8260.
Report Preparation: Following the receipt of analytical results from the laboratory, Cambria
will prepare a written report which will include field procedures, laboratory results, boring
logs, conclusions, and recommendations for additional work as warranted by the results of the
investigation.
The scope of work described in this work plan will be performed under the supervision of a
• registered geologist or registered professional engineer.
0854 5
