This addendum has been prepared in response to the May 16, 1995, telephone
conversation between you and Mr. Dan Kirk of Shell.
Revisions to the original workplan are based on historical ground water information, the
refusal of the property owner to the south to grant access to Shell, the 75-day vapor extraction
test performed in 1991 and 1992, and the likely natural attenuation of petroleum hydrocarbons
in the subsurface.
The original workplan proposed the installation of three off-site ground water monitoring
wells. However, the fieldwork described herein is proposed to investigate the following:
1. The effect, on soils, of a 75-day vapor extraction test conducted in 1991 and 1992;
2. The extent of natural attenuation of petroleum hydrocarbons previously detected in soils
beneath the former underground storage tanks;
3. The extent of petroleum hydrocarbons potentially in soil and ground water northwest
(upgradient) of the former tanks; and
4. The extent of petroleum hydrocarbons potentially in soil and ground water southeast
(downgradient) of the former tank locations.
93470020.BWP A member of the Fugro group of companies with offices throughout the world _
