(Fugro), on behalf of Shell Oil Company (Shell), is providing this Interim <br /> Remediation Workplan for the subject site (Figures 1 and 2). This workplan has been <br /> provided in response to San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental <br /> • Health Division's (SJCPHS/EHD) letter dated July 7, 1994. The SJCPHS/EHD letter <br /> requests an interim clean-up workplan for groundwater. A separate-phase hydrocarbon <br /> removal skimmer was installed in MW-3 in January 1993. Separate-phase hydrocarbons <br /> have not been observed in MW-3 since April 28, 1993. <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> Fugro proposes the following scope of work for interim clean up: <br /> • Purging MW-3 of 40 to 50 gallons of groundwater by pumping or bailing during <br /> each auarterly monitoring and sampling event. The total volume Of Water removed <br /> during each quarterly event will be dependent upon recharge into the well. <br /> Purging will be performed by Shell's sampling contractor, Blaine Tech Services, <br /> Inc. (Blaine Tech), of San Jose, California. <br /> • Disposal of purge water will be handled by Blaine Tech. <br /> • The extra purging will be documented in the quarterly reports. <br /> • <br /> 83410020 AWP <br /> A member of the Fugro group of companies with offices throughout the world <br />
