�- �•,. � f "fir <br /> Subsurface Investigation Results <br /> 6134 Pacific Avc., Stockton, CA. <br /> Aegis Project no. 90-020 <br /> Pape 3 <br /> o Recovered soil samples were classified according to the <br /> Unified Soil Classification System (USCS) , and a log of each <br /> soil boring was generated. <br /> a Soils recovered from the borings were screened for the <br /> presence of organic vapors with an hNu photoionization <br /> detector (PID) . <br /> o Drill cuttings were placed on and covered by viuquene. A <br /> total of four point samples were collected from the <br /> stockpiled soils in brass tubes according to methods <br /> described in Appendix A. <br /> o Based on the results of classification and PID screening, <br /> one or more soil samples from each boring was placed under a <br /> chain of custody, secured in a sealed ice chest and <br /> submitted to a state-certified-laboratory for analysis. <br /> o Soil samples submitted for analysis were analyzed for <br /> _x benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, xylenes (BTEX) and total <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) . The methods used in, the <br /> analysis of sail samples are described in Appendix A. <br /> w� <br /> o Upon completion of drilling all soil borings were backfilled <br /> to the surface with a cement/bentonite mix. <br /> 2.0 BACKGROUND INFORMATION <br /> 2.1 SITE LOCATION <br /> The. Site is located on the southwest corner at the intersection <br /> of Pacific and Porter Avenues in Stockton, San Joaquin County, <br /> California, Section 21, Township 2 North, flange 6 East (Figure <br /> 1) . The Site lies within a commercial area in west Stockton. The <br /> San Joaquin County assessor's parcel number for the Site is 047-- <br /> 046-018. <br /> 2.2 SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> 4 <br /> An operational Shell service station currently occupies the Site <br /> which consists of four cz-.nopy covered pump islands, a kiosk and a <br /> storage building(Figure 2) . The kiosk is located between the pump <br /> ,islands on the central portion of the Site. The storage building <br /> is located on the south western corner of the site. Three <br /> underground fuel storage tanks are located adjacent to and <br /> northwest of the pump islands. The surface of the Site is flat <br /> lying and paved. <br />
