tM <br /> r <br /> I <br /> j PRE-TANK REPLACEMENT Site Assessment Work Plan <br /> i 6131 Pacific Ave, Stockton, CA <br /> Aegis Project No. 90-020 <br /> Page 1 <br /> I � 1.6 INTRODUCTION <br /> ^' This work flan describes the proposed site assessment for the Shell <br /> oil Company (Shell) retail gasoline station located at 6131 Pacific I <br /> Avenue, Stockton, San Joaquin County, California (Site) . The location <br /> of the Site is shown on Figure 1. This work plan was requested by <br /> Shell in preparation for the replacement of underground fuel storage <br /> tanks located at the Site. <br /> 1.1 Purpose <br /> The purpose of the investigation is to: ! <br /> pa <br /> o Characterize soil and hydrologic conditions beneath the Site. <br /> o . Assess the presence of petroleum hydrocarbons in the soil beneath <br /> the Site in response to a reported leak. <br /> o Versify the soil conditions at the location of the new underground <br /> fuel-storage-tank cluster location. <br /> :z <br /> a Evaluate the need for further assessment and/nr mitigation of <br /> k_., ;- petroleum constituents in soil and ground water beneath the Site, <br /> prior,.to the tank closure/replacement. <br /> 1.2 seoiie <br /> tv. <br /> c {�; A detailed work plan is presented in section 3.0. The scone of work is <br /> summarized below. <br /> " o Drill four soil borings to an estimated maximum depth cif 30 feet <br /> below grade in the area of the existing underground fuel storage <br /> tanks and product line trenches. <br /> a Drill eight soil borings to estimated maximum depths of 20 feet <br /> below grade at the new location of the replacement underground <br /> r ' fuel storage tanks. <br /> o Drill one soil boring in the northeastern corner of the site to <br /> determine the depth to ground water. <br /> `"" 0 Recover from each of the borings representative soil samples at <br /> five--foot intervals. <br /> o Classify the recovered soil samples according to the Unified Soil <br /> Classification, System. <br /> L. <br /> !v <br />
