One soilboring will be advanced in the <br /> northeastern corner::of the site: to the depth of 'first ground:'water. <br /> r : Soil borings will be advanced using a 6-inch diameter hallow stem <br /> auger. All soil borings, upon completion, will be abandoneu to the <br /> r- surface with a cement bentonite powder mix. Soil samples will be <br /> collected using brass liners in a California-modified split-barrel <br /> sampler. <br /> Soil Samples will be collected at a maximum vartic:al spacing of 5.0 <br /> feet and will be screened in the field with a portable photoionization <br /> detector (PID) or an organic vapor analyzer (OVA) to determine organic ` <br /> vapor content. Selected soil samples will by sent to a state <br /> certified-laboratory fcr analysis. Samples will be analyzed for <br /> Benzene, Ethyl, benzene, Toluene, Xylenes (BTEX) , total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons (TPH) and total lead. The methods used in the analyses of <br /> soil ,samples are described in Section 4.0. <br /> The total •volume of cuttings removed from the soil borings is expected <br /> to be between one and two cubic yards. Material removed from the <br /> borings will be placed on and covered by visquene. Four point samples <br /> will be collected from the stockpiled soils and composited at the <br /> p, laboratory inti: rwo samples. One composite sample will be analyzed for <br /> .-.ml?X, TPH, and total lead according to methods described in section <br /> 4" <br /> 4.`4. The remaining sample will be frozen and retained b3r the <br /> laboratory for further testing, if required. The stockpiled soil will f <br /> I" be legally disposed of upon confirmation of the contents from the <br /> analytical soil sample results. <br /> 7.11 work described herein will be completed according to the health <br /> and safety procedures outlined in the site health and safety plan <br /> included in Appendix A.
