subsurface investigation ResUtts
5931 PAcifio Ave., Stockton, CA.
Aegis Protect No. 99.020
"• Page 27
total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) organic lead, and ethyl
dibromide as necessary. The methods used in the analyses of soil
samples are described in Appendix A.
The total volume of cuttings removed from the soil borings is
expected to be between two and three cubic yards. Material
removed from the borings will be placed on and covered by
visquene. The cuttings will be sampled as outlined in section
5.0. The material generated during drilling will be legally
disposed of upon confirmation of the contents from the analytical
soil sample results.
Two Vapor extraction wells will be installed using the soil
_ borings. VE-1 will be drilled to a depth of 45 feet below grade.
The purpose of VE-1 is volatilize petroleum hydrocarbons
constituents in native soil. Construction details for VE-1 are
presented in Figure 11. VE-2 will be drilled to a depth of 20
feet below grade. The purpose of VE-2 is to remove petroleum
hydrocarbons in the, fill material located in the original tank
basin. Construction details for VE-2 are presented on figure 12.
8.2 VAPOR EXTRACTION MANIFOLD SYSTEM
The purpose of the vapor manifold system is volatilize the
petroleum hydrocarbons in soils beneath the product lines. Figure
10 presents the specifications for the manifold systems. The
maximum depth of the trenches will be .three feet to insure the
integrity of the canopy footings.
.0 y
After the vapor extraction wells and associated piping system
are installed, a pilot hydrocarbon vapor extraction test will be
w performed to assess advective air flow, and effluent discharge
concentrations. This action will be permitted through the SJCHD
-' and San Joaquin County Air Quality Management District. Results
of the pilot test with recommendations will be submitted with
three weeks of receipt of analytical results.
i
t.
