CAMBRIA
Approximately 3,486 gallons of groundwater were extracted from well VEW-2 over 4,125 minutes
of operation, which equates to an average extraction rate of 0 84 gpm. The estimated mass
removal of dissolved-phase TPHg, benzene, and MTBE is 3 49, 0 12, and 0 002 pounds,
respectively(Table 3)
RECOMMENDATIONS
Because DPE appears to be an ettective interim remedial strategy for this site, Cambria
recommends conducting additional DPE with the objective of reducing vapor influent
concentrations over the course of the event We propose conducting the additional DPE during the
third quarter 2005, when groundwater elevations are typically at their lowest in extraction well
VEW-2 Based on the results of this subsequent DPE, Cambria will prepare a corrective action
plan and risk-based correction action analysis, to evaluate the appropriate remedial options for this
site We will also continue groundwater monitoring to evaluate whether the DPE activities affect
groundwater concentrations It SJCEHD concurs with this recommendation, Cambria will submit
a work plan detailing these activities
CLOSING
It you have any questions regarding the contents of this document, please call Aubrey Cool at
(510) 420-3336
Sincerely,
Cambria Environmental Technology, Inc
Dan Lescure
Senior Project Engineer
D GI-
N 0
Aubrey K Co , RG < '
Project Geologist
RG 7659 HO 7659
9or CAoF
0854 10
