PUBLIC HL*ALTH SERVICLS
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DIVISION
Karen Furst, M.D., M.P.H., Health Officer .c
304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor • Stockton, CA 95202
209/468-3420
December 2. 1998
Equilon LLC
Attn: Tim Hargaves
P.O. Box 8080
Martinez, CA 94553
RE: Our letter of November 17,1998, UST system at 440 Charter Way,
Stockton, CA
Our above letter sent on November 17,1998 was in error. A search of our
records for the site revealed that the above tank system was installed after
January 1, 1984 and was required to be a double walled tank system. It was
noted on the construction plan that the tank system was installed with the
knowledge that this system when installed would not meet new underground
tank requirements. This tank system will have to be closed prior to December
22, 1998. Due to the lack of time to meet all requirements the EHD will accept
an approved closure plan and the tanks being drained and cleaned prior to the
December 22, 1998 date as meeting closure requirements (LG 149). Plan
submitted by Paradiso Mechanical will be returned.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact me at (209)468-
3446.
Doug Wilson, Supervising R.E.H.S.
Environmental Health Division
DW/dw
cc: Tracy Lum
Paradiso Mechanical
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
