I
28 September 1992
(GeoAudit CV42F5-1. 26)
are attached in Appendix C.
These results confirm the presence of the previously--detected
diesel contamination in MW-1 (240 ppb on 9 June 1992) . The
I detection of gasoline in MW-2 represents a departure from the June
sampling, when diesel was detected in both MW-2 and MW-3 but
gasoline was not detected.
IRECOMMENDATIONS
In view of the changes in groundwater gradient and contamination,
Geological Audit recommends that the wells be remeasured and
sampled by 9 December 1992 . The existing data do not provide a
clear picture of the nature and extent of the contaminant plume,
and we believe that remediation or further assessment drilling
would be premature at this time.
LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care
and skill ordinarily exercised by environmental consultants
practicing in this or similar localities. The findings were based
upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory.
Evaluations of the geologic/hydrogeologic conditions at the site
I for the purpose of this investigation are made from a limited
number of available data points (i . e. monitoring well) and
subsurface conditions may vary away from these data points . No
other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the
professional recommendations contained in this report.
I
I
