Union Ice Chronology Page 3 1991 2119191 Excavation of contaminated soil was initiated. Approximately 800 cubic yards of soil was excavated and twenty-four soil samples were collected: S- 1 - S-15 and WS-16 - WS-24 to begin to characterize the extent of residual soil contamination. See the attached table of results and sample location map. 7112191 Under permit by the Air Pollution Control District, the stockpiled soil was aerated and four composited soil samples were received by GeoAnalytical Laboratories for analysis. The results are tabulated below. See the attached summary table of analytical results. 1993 3115193 Excavation of remaining soil contamination was initiated. Approximately 2,000 cubic yards of contaminated soil was removed. During excavation activities, confirmation soil samples were collected. Soil samples were also collected from the on site soil which was used for backfilling, since insufficient soil samples were collected to confirm that the soil was no longer contaminated and because the soils from 1320 Weber and 425 Union were combined (note 7112191 above). See the attached summary table of analytical results and sample location map. 7/29/93 Soil samples were collected to confirm the completion of soil aeration treatment of a portion of the contaminated soil which was removed.
