Other requirements may also apply. These requirements cannot be
modified.
A. Environmental Health Division requires a soil suitability/nitrate loading study incorporating
Knumber of employees and proposed number of customers, indicating that the area is suitable
for septic tank usage. This must be performed prior to issuance of building permits (San
Joaquin County Development Title, Section 9-1105.2(d)). A nitrate loading study is required
and a review fee of$445.00 must be paid at time of submittal to Environmental Health
Division.
The sewage disposal system shall comply with the on site sewage standards of San Joaquin
County prior to approval. A percolation test that meets absorption rates of the manual of
septic tank practice or E.P.A. Design Manual for onsite wastewater treatment and disposal
system is required for each parcel. A permit fee of$89.00 per percolation hole is required.
B. Construction of individual sewage-disposal-system(s)under permit and inspection by the
Environmental Health Division is required at the time of development based on the Soil
Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study (San Joaquin County Development Title, Section 9-1110.3
& 9-1110.4).
NOTE: The existing septic system for this facility was installed under Permit#5511 in 1954.
The installation at that time allowed for a brick lined seepage pit. The existence of these pits
presents a potential safety hazard, and an effort to uncover the pit and properly fill it needs to be
addressed.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
