Ms Mary Meays Page 5
July 14, 1991
• MW-2A showed low concentrations of TPH-G, TPH-D, and petroleum
compounds No free product was observed at MW-2A during this quarter
This is in contrast to the previous analysis when free product (<0 01 inches)
was observed in the groundwater from this well and no sample was
obtained and analyzed
MW-3A and MW-4A showed no detectable quantities of gasoline, diesel, and
petroleum compounds The absence of these compounds in MW-4A is
consistent with the results from previous investigations. Previously, MW-
3A had very low levels of BTEX compounds. Thus, it is probable that MW-
3A is situated on the margin of the area affected by gasoline from the
former UST
EDB was not detected in any of the wells, nor had it been detected in
previous quarters
No organic lead was detected in any of the groundwater samples that were
analyzed These results for organic lead are consistent with those of
previous quarters
Total lead was detected in the samples that were analyzed, but at levels
below its Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) in drinking water The data
were obtained from unfiltered and HNO3-preserved groundwater samples
. that had resided at the laboratory for 15 days before extraction and analysis
It is highly probable that the results reflect lead from dissolved sediment in
the unfiltered sample Subsequent monitoring activities will be conducted
on filtered water samples to minimae the effect of any dissolved sediment
The information provided comprises the Second Quarterly 1992 Monitoring
Report for the 1325 West Weber Avenue Former Tank #1 and #2 saes If
you have any questions regarding this report, please contact either of the
undersigned
Sincerely,
ERM-WEST, INC
Bruce J Pfaff re Rubin, C P S S
Project Manager Managing Associate
C
BJP/bjp/1572 OI
Enclosures - Noted
cc Elizabeth Thayer — Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control
Board
