HAZARD EVALUATION
The following substance(s) or hazards are known or suspected to be on site.
SUBSTANCES INVOLVED: CONCENTRATIONS:
Benzene unknown
Toluene unknown
Ethyl-benzene unknown
Total xylenes unknown
Other organic-based products (MTBE) unknown
Others unknown
The primary hazards of each are identified as follows:
1. Hydrocarbon fuels - Components of fuels are colorless liquids with strong aromatic
petroleum hydrocarbon-like odors. They are flammable and have low solubility in water.
Exposure to these materials in excess of recommended exposure limits can cause mild eye,
nose, and throat irritation and can produce a narcotic effect on the central nervous system.
Symptoms of exposure at these concentrations include headache, nausea, drowsiness,
dizziness, and loss of coordination. Certain components of gasoline(BTE&X etc.)are known
or suspected carcinogens.
The additional potential hazards include: Slip-trip-fall hazards, noise, heavy equipment, vibration
hazards, traffic hazards, etc.
Adranccd GeoEnvironmcntal,Inc.
