Unauthorized Release Fact Sheet
Moore Petroleum Bulk Plant
5491 T" Street, Banta, California
Introduction
This fact sheet has been prepared to inform surrounding community members about proposed"No
Further Action"designation associated with unauthorized release and subsequent clean up associated with
former underground storage tanks(USTs)which leaked at the Moore Petroleum Bulk Plant located at
5491 "F"Street,Banta, California.
Site History
The Moore Petroleum Bulk Plant is currently a card lock refueling station with two aboveground storage
tanks(ASTs). In 1998, seven 10,000-gallon and two 350-gallon USTs were removed from the site. The
over-excavated soil was transported to Forward Landfill in Manteca,California for disposal. Soil and
groundwater investigations have been performed from 1998 through 2012 in order to define the aerial
extant of the contamination around the site. The extent of contamination in soil and groundwater has been
defined by the investigations through the installation of groundwater monitoring wells both on and off
site.
Remediation Cleanup
From 1995 to 1997, an internal combustion engine was used onsite to remove soil vapor from the
subsurface. In 2002,a soil vapor extraction(SVE) system began removal of gasoline related
hydrocarbons from the subsurface. The SVE system was supplemented in 2006 with the addition of
ozone sparging through 10 ozone sparging points. Both systems operated onsite until 2009. Over the
course of remediation associated with this site, vapor extraction has removed over 6,000 pounds of
gasoline related constituents from the soil and groundwater.
Subsurface Investigations
The site has been characterized by 15 groundwater monitoring wells, 3 groundwater monitoring/soil vapor
extraction wells, 2 soil vapor extraction wells, 1 recovery well, 1 domestic well, 10 ozone sparging wells,
and 18 soil vapor survey points. Soil investigations have been conducted from surface to approximately
80 feet below ground surface. Groundwater monitoring has been conducted onsite since 1992. Two soil
vapor surveys were conducted onsite in 2007 and 2011.
If you have any questions about the information provided above please contact:
Victoria L McCartney,REHS
Joaquin County
 waeS by 2015c,San Joa
q ty 5ve%jyr 7g02 -tau
Environmental Health Department 2
Telephone: (209)468-9852 0z---: Ij 7
Email: vmccartneY0-s6cehd.com
