(Delta),has been authorized by Moore Petroleum Inc.,to conduct
a Hydrogeolagic,assessment Investigation at 5491 "F Street, Banta,in San Joaquin County, California,
T.2S., R.SE., Section 24, MDB&M (Figure 1). Delta's investigation has resulted from the detection of
petroleum hydrocarbon constituents in the soils adjacent to the underground storage tanks at the site.
Lw
1.1 Purpose
r- The purpose of the"Preliminary Hydrageo2og c Assessment Repon"is to determine the late-.11 and vertical
extent of petroleum constituents in the soil of the site. The report also provides en[ormatian and
evaluation of petroleum constituents in the ground water at the site. The final objective is to determine
a course of action for future investigative and xemedial activities to efficiently bring the site to closure
1.2 Sco or IVa-k
The following activities have been performed to help achieve the purpose and objectives mentioned
r- above:
Review of available geologic and hydrogeotogic data pertinent to the site.
L;
Advancement of two standard-penetration, hollow-stem-auger soil borings to obtain
undisturbed soil samples at 5-foot-depth intervals. The samples were screened with a
photoionization detector(PID). Selected samples were analyzed by aCalifornia-certified
t ' laboratory for benzene, toluene,ethylbenzene, and xylenes, (BT'EX), 1,2-dichlaroethane
(EDC),ethylene dibromide (EDB),and total purgeable petroleum hydrocarbons (I PPH)
ruing EPA Method 82b4.
f
Classify soils encountered in the sail borin&m according to the Unified Soil Classification
System.
i.
