i
Fw
PRELIMI ARY HYDROGEOLOGIC ASSESSMENT WORK PLAN
5491"F"Street,$ante,California
Delta Project No.40-88-481
-- Page 14
After installation the monitoring wells will be developed by pumping using the methods described
in Appendix C,Section 1.5. After development, water samples will be collected from each well using
methods described in Section 1.5 of Appendix C.
4.4 Chemical Analvsls
d e 1 dell Chemical Analysis
Based on the results of soil-sample screening, soil samples will be selected from each soll boring and
sent to a State-certified laboratory for chemical analysis. The soil samples will be analyzed for
BTEX,EDB, EDC,and TPH using BPA Method 524.2/8240. Soil samples will be prepared using
purge and trap methods(EPA Method 5030).
These analyses should indicate whether petroleum constituents are present and will aid in .
characterization of the type of any petroleum present(gasoline of diesel fuel).
4.4.2 Ground Water Chemlcat Analllses
CM, All ground water samples collected will be subjected to the same analyses as described in Section
,In 4.4.1 using EPA Method 524.2/8240. Ground water samples will be prepared using purge and trap
t. methods(EPA Method 5030).
5.0 SCHEDULE
Delta will proceed with the work outlined in this plan as soon as approval is obtained. A drilling
osed borings within two weeks of approval of this plan,
crew will be mobilized to drill the prop
Laboratory analysis of soil and water samples generally requires three weeks. A summary report of
the results, including information on subsurface geology, ground water depth and flow direction,
water-supply wells in the area, monitoring well construction details, and recommendation for any
t
further assessment or remedial activities will be prepared within three weeks after laboratory results •
L-4
are received.
I
b
