<. Fourth Quarter 1996 Groundwater Monitoring&Remediation Status Report
Moore Petroleum,Inc.,5491'71 Street,Banta,CA
November 13, 1996
Page 3
REMEDIATION STATUS
Influent and eluent vapor samples have been collected from the vapor extraction system on a
monthly basis to demonstrate compliance with the SJVUAPCD Permit conditions. Quarterly
results for the Fourth Quarter 1996 included the months of August, September and October. The
r air samples were collected according to the Apex SOP included in Appendix A and submitted,
under chain-of-custody documentation,to Sparger Technology, Inc. of Sacramento, California, a
State-certified laboratory. The air samples were analyzed for concentrations of TPH, as gasoline,
and BTEX. Analytical reports and chain-of-custody forms are included in Appendix B.
During this reporting period, August 2, 1996 through October 3, 1996,the vapor extraction
system has averaged a flow rate of 16 CFM. During this reporting period, vapor samples were
collected for laboratory analysis on August 16 and September 18, 1996. Based on the vapor
sample analytical results for August 19, 1996,the system extraction rate was 1.9 pounds per day
(1b./day) as TPH, as gasoline, and 0.0151b./day of benzene. Based on the vapor sample
analytical results for September 18, 1996,the system extraction rate was 1.8 pounds per day
(lb./day) as TPH, as gasoline, and 0.0151b./day of benzene. As of September 18, 1996,the vapor
extraction system has extracted 1,630 pounds of TPH, as gasoline, and 17.8 pounds of benzene.
System operating data is contained in Table 3. Extraction rates and analytical results to date are
summarized in Table 4.
