The samples were
submitted, under chain-of-custody documentation, to California Laboratory Services of Rancho
Cordova, California, a state-certified analytical laboratory. The samples were analyzed for
concentrations of total petroleum hydrocarbons, as gasoline and diesel, by Modified EPA Method
8015; benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes and MTBE by EPA Method 8020. The
analytical results are summarized in Table 2. The laboratory analytical reports and chain-of-
custody form are included in Appendix B.
RECOMMENDATIONS
i
Apex submitted a workplan for excavation of petroleum-impacted soil and removal of petroleum-
impacted groundwater dated September 10, 1997. SJCEH responded to our workplan with a
letter dated October 29, 1997. Apex is currently in process of seeking pre-approval from the
State Water Board UST Clean-Up Fund (The Fund). Once The Fund pre-approves the
excavation and removal of petroleum-impacted groundwater, Apex will then commerce with the
f y' excavation.
REPORT DISTRIBUTION
Apex submitted copies of this report, in final form, to:
1.
