s
h
Results Report and First Quarter 2001 Groundwater Monitoring Report
Moore Petroleum Bulk Plant,5491 F street,Banta,California
Page 5
Groundwater Sampling and Anal sis
Apex personnel collected groundwater samples from all twelve existing wells, VEW-2, RW-2, `
and the off-site domestic well. The samples were submitted, under chain-of-custody, to CLS
Labs of Rancho Cordova, California. All samples were collected according to the Apex SOP
included in Appendix A.
All samples were analyzed for concentrations of. a) TPH, as gasoline; TPH, as diesel; TPH, as
kerosene; and TPH, as motor oil by modified EPA Method 8015; b) BTEX by EPA Method
8020; and c) five oxygenates by EPA Method 8260. The laboratory analytical report and chain-
of-custody form are included in Appendix C. Analytical results are summarized in Table 3 and
Table 4.
All purged and recovered liquids are stored temporarily on site in Department of Transporta#4on-
approved, 55-gallon drums pending removal from the site by a licensed hauler to an appropriate
disposal facility.
` 1E
CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on laboratory analytical results, soil has been impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons.
Results for each boring is as follows:
I
• VEW-2: Contained the highest concentrations of analyzed constituents. TPHg was
detected at 54 mg/kg, TPHd at 370 mg/kg and TPH motor oil at 87 mg/kg. BTEX
was non-detect except for total xylenes at 4.3 ug/kg.
• RW-2: The only detected constituents were TPHd at 2.6 mg/kg and MTBE at 29
mg/kg.
• The composite sample had the highest concentration of TPHg at 130 mg/kg. TPHd
was detected at 28 mg/kg and TPH motor oil at 4.4 mg/kg. BTEX was non-detect
except for total xylenes at 3.3 mg/kg.
1
I
EDB, 1,2-DCA, and the oxygenates (except MTBE in EW-2 @10') were non-detect in all 1
samples.. I
Groundwater analytical results indicate shallow groundwater beneath the site has been impacted
by petroleum hydrocarbons. MW-2, MW-5, and MW-6 were non-detect for all analyzed
4 constituents and TPH as kerosene and DIPE were non-detect in all analyzed samples. Results for
wells with detectable concentrations are as follows:
f
