(Apex), is pleased to provide Moore Petroleum (Moore) this report
documenting the results from the Limited Subsurface Investigation/ Well Installation performed
on July 25 and 26, 2000. The subsurface investigation consisted of the completion of four soil
borings, with three borings being completed as monitoring wells (MW-10, MW-11, and MW-
12). One boring (SB-Deep) was advanced using continuos coring techniques to delineate the
vertical extent of MTBE migration in the source area. Also, a water sample was collected from
the Rhodes residence domestic well, which is located east of the site. In addition, this report also
includes results from the quarterly groundwater monitoring conducted on August 15, 2000. The
monitoring included collection of depth-to-water measurements and groundwater samples from
all existing monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, MW-4A, and MW-5 through MW-12 at the
subject site (Figures 1 & 2). Finally, this report addresses deficiencies related to the results of the
well search conducted by Delta Environmental Consultants. A copy of the letter from San
Joaquin County, Public Health Services (County) requiring the tasks listed above is included as
Appendix A.
BACKGROUND
Apex began work on this project with the groundwater monitoring conducted on January 14,
1994. Prior to Apex, work conducted at the site included subsurface investigations and
groundwater monitoring by Earth Treatment Systems, Inc., of Manteca, California; Delta
Environmental Consultants, Inc., of Rancho Cordova, California; Nations Groundwater
Associates of Sacramento, California; and Aegis Environmental, Inc. (Aegis), of Roseville,
California. Site details may be found in the Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report, dated
ti,. April 18, 1991, submitted to Moore Petroleum by Aegis.
