APEX
7849 Madison Avenue,Suite 106 • Fair Oaks,CA 93628
E N V I R 0 T E C H , INC . 1.800.242.5249 • Ph.916.535.0200 • Fax 916.535.0207
November 24, 1999
Mr. Jerry Moore
Moore Petroleum
5491 F Street
Banta, California
Subject: Results of Limited Subsurface Investigation and
Fourth Quarter 1999 Groundwater Monitoring Report
Moore Petroleum Bulb Plant
5491 F Street
Banta, California
Apex Project 4 ERA02.004
Dear Mr. Moore:
Apex Envirotech, Inc. (Apex), is pleased to provide Moore Petroleum (Moore) this report
documenting the results of the limited subsurface investigation conducted at the subject site
(Figures I and 2) and results of the fourth quarter groundwater monitoring conducted on October
28, 1999. The subsurface investigation included the drilling of four soil borings with soil
sampling, converting three of the four soil borings into 2-inch-diameter groundwater monitoring
wells MW-4A, MW-7, MW-9, and converting the fourth soil boring (MW-8) into a 4-inch
diameter well. The purpose of the subsurface investigation was to determine the distribution, if
any, of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater beneath the site. The monitoring
included collection of depth-to-water measurements and groundwater samples from all existing
monitoring wells MW-l; MW-2, MW-3, MW-4A, MW-5 through MW-9 (Figure 2).
This report is based, in part, on information obtained from Moore Petroleum, and is subject to
modification as newly acquired information may warrant.
BACKGROUND
Apex began work on this project with the groundwater monitoring conducted on January 14,
1994. Prior to Apex, work conducted at the site included subsurface investigations and
groundwater monitoring by Earth Treatment Systems, Inc., of Manteca, California; Delta
Environmental Consultants, Inc., of Rancho Cordova, California; Nations Groundwater
Associates of Sacramento, California; and Aegis Environmental, Inc. (Aegis), of Roseville,
1
