On March 19, 1997, this office attempted to
schedule a meeting with Mr. Infurna to discuss your agency's position as to any further
regulatory action believed by your agency to be necessary at the Property. Mr. Infurna,
however, refused such a meeting, suggesting that he is too busy to serve the county as he has
been employed to do. As a result of Mr. Lil'urna's refusal, and the absence of environmental
contamination at the Property, this demand for no further regulatory action follows.
In December, 1994, Mr. Souza voluntarily undertook a subsurface investigation of the
Property to determine the environmental impact, if any, to the Property resulting from
releases o1,hazardous waste From' the nearly Chevro►► pipcliue. Mr. Souza's voluntary
investigation included sampling soils and groundwater from three monitoring wells. The wells
were sampled two additional tines, liar a total of three groundwater sampling episodes. Except.
for the detection of polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons during the first sampling episode, all
subsequent sampling episodes have shown all analytes to be below detection limits (See,
February 3, 1995 Mill Creek Report enclosed herewith).
