Local officers; released waste. <br /> Existing law requires the Department of Toxic Substances Contro <br /> and any local health officer or a local public officer designated by,. <br /> Director of"Toxic Substances Control to enforce the standards a.. . <br /> regulations concerning hazardous waste. <br /> Existing <br /> release <br /> t law allows a responsible Party for a hazardous materials <br /> e site to make one request to the Site Designation Conunitlee, <br /> which is within the California Environmental Protection Agency, to <br /> designate an administering agency to oversee a site investigation and <br /> ren►edial action at that buzardous materials release site. <br /> "Phis bill would authorize a party responsible for-1110 release of <br /> waste,as defined,to request thin u local officer,as defined, per <br /> suvise <br /> u renkedial action, as defined, for the cleanup of Ihut waste, ,older <br /> prescribed circumstances. The bill would require that remedial <br /> actions be carried outpursuant to a remedial action agreement <br /> onlered into by the local officer and like responsible party.
