All of the requested data has been collected,
evaluated and is presented below.
1. In addition to the well logs submitted to DHS in our letter dated 18
June 1987, DHS requested well logs for eight additional wells. In a
DHS letter dated 24 April 1987 to the LIKA Corporation, Task 5
requested well information within one mile of the site be submitted,
and of the eight wells, only two wells, T01N/R06E-04: B01 and JO1 ,
were located within one mile of the site. The well logs for these
two wells were not on file at the Department of Water Resources
(DWR) . The explanation given by DWR for well logs not in DWR's file
were as follows :
1) Wells logs for wells not in DWR's file were not submitted to
DWR.
2) Wells could have been installed after our submittal to DHS.
3) The well logs for wells not on file at DWR will be filed later
(pending court case) .
2. The following changes in Task 2 were made as the result of our
telephone conversation with DHS on 25 August 1987:
1) The duration of measurement of groundwater levels in the
monitoring wells, MW-1 and MW-4 and ship channel elevation
(Task 4) was reduced from two quarters to two months (4
September to 4 November 1987) .
Consulting Engineers,Geologists
and Environmental Scientists
Offices in Other Principal Cities
