ing to San Joaquin County well destruction specifications.
Additional Remedial Investigation
Post-excavation groundwater sampling was requested by the
Department for an upgradient and downgradient well. Average
values for pH, temperature, conductivity, and TDS all reflected
background conditions. Total copper and lead concentrations
averaged 0. 06 mg/L and <0. 05 mg/L respectively (cf. footnotes,
page 1, for reference concentrations) .
Community Involvement
On January 8 , 1987 a community meeting was held in Stockton
concerning the remediation of the site. A repository of
material concerning the remediation of the site had previously
been set up at the Stockton-San Joaquin County Library. Notices
of the proposed remedial action were published in the Stockton
Record.
Groundwater Quality Monitoring
A post-remediation groundwater quality monitoring program will
be implemented by the RP's. Measurements for copper, lead, TDS,
temperature, conductivity, and pH will be made on a quarterly
basis in two downgradient and one upgradient well for a period
of two years. Water table soundings will be made quarterly.
Quarterly reports will be submitted to the Northern California
Section of the Department's Toxic Substances Control Division.
Responsible Party
The responsible parties associated with the LIKA-Field site are
Michael Blatt, LIKA Corporation, and TANDY Corporation. They
are the property owner, the generator, and parent corporation of
the generator respectively.
Protection of Public Health and Environment
The Department of Health Services believes, based on available
information, that the cleanup adequately protects public health
and the environment.
