a.
3.5.1. SOIL CUTTINGS
J During drilling, soil cuttings that do not contain visible contamination will be placed on
plastic sheets and covered with plastic sheets in an isolated area of the Del Monte
property. The soil cuttings will be grouped according to their respective soil boring.
Disposal or remedial alternatives of the soil cutting will be evaluated upon the results
-.- of the soil analyses.
As drilling proceeds, the soil cuttings that do contain visible contamination will be
placed initially an plastic sheets and shoveled into DOT-approved 55-gallon drums and
labelled. The boring or sample number and container number will be written on each
drum with a wax crayon. In addition, attached to each drum by wire, will be a water-
proof label bearing the following information:
• Contai':er number
- Boring number
Media type (soil)
• Depths from which soil was taken
• Date of sampling
The label will also note that ana tical results are peiiding for the container.
,. The analytical results from the soil samples will be correlated to the specific drums
. containing the cuttings. If chemical constituents are detected, tne''satn ie with .the.
P
hiOest concentration will Pe considered, representative of thesoil inside the'drum.
3.5.2 PURGED GROUNDWATER AND DECONTAMINATION WASTEWATER
Wastewaters will be generated during monitoring well development, water purging from
the wells.before sampling and equipment decontamination.'.This water will be stored
onsite in:55-gallon drums. Each drum will be labeled and sealed when full. A con- e
twiner number will be written on each drum with a wax crayon. An attached, watQr-
proof label will include the following information:
• Container number
• Source of waste (well number or decontamination water)
• Media type (water)
• Date of collection
_. Date of sampling(if applicable)
Sample numbers associated with the well or decontamination water
When available, field investigation analytical results.will be correlated.vtlt drummed
wastewater to de-tertriirie the appropriate disposition'for the wastes:If no contamination
- - -- —
' is detected, the water will be discharged to the ground surface.
i
SF031W4\WFW7.51 3-9
. `i
67
