I 1
I
i
 K.LEINFEL DER
5.2. . ANALYTICAL METHODS AND REPORTED RANGES
Each of.the groundwater samples collected were submitted for analysis. The following is a list of
the requested analyses and the reported ranges for groundwater samples obtained from the
ff monitoring wells sampled,
1 -
• Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as gasoline [non-detect to 160,000 ug/1]
• Benzene [non-detect to 25,000 ug/11
• Toluene [non-detect 42,000 ug/l]
• Ethylbenzene [non-detect 3,500 ug/11
• Xylene [non-detect 17,000 ug/1]
1,2 DCA [non-detect to 2,100 ug/1]
• EDB [non-detect to 1,100 ug/1]
TBA [all non-detect <0.50 ug/l]
• MTBE [non-detect to 1.449/11
• DIPE [all non-detect<0.50 ug/1]
•. ETBE [all non-detect<0.50 ug/1]
• TAME [all non-detect<0.50 ug/1]
For a summa of analytical data for the analytes listed above,
ry yt ytplease see Table 2 behind the
"Tables"tab of this report. .
1,2-DCA was detected in six of the eight groundwater samples analyzed with concentrations
i ranging from 0,57 ug/l (MW-DIS-2) to 2,100 ug/l (NPI-80'). This sampling event marks the
first time a groundwater sample was collected for analysis from MW-DIS-15 since.it was
installed in February 2003. 1,2-DCA was detected in MW-DIS-15 with a concentration of 10
ug/1. The remaining four groundwater samples showed non-detect concentrations of 1,2-DCA at
or above the laboratory reporting limit(ND <0.5 ug/1). The PMCL for 1,2-DCA is 5 ug/l.
TPH-g and BTEX compounds were also detected in five of the twelve groundwater samples.
The highest noted concentrations. were seen in the samples collected from within the former
service station footprint (MW-DIS-1,. NPI-70', NP1-80% and NP1-90'), whereas the lowest .
concentrations detected were seen in MW-DIS-2 located northwest of the former service station
tank area.
The groundwater sample collected from MW-DIS-15 was also analyzed for the four oxygenates
MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, and TAME. None of the oxygenates were detected in the sample. MTBE
was detected in the groundwater sample collected from MW-DIS-14s with a concentration of 1.4
ug/l. MTBE was not detected in the remaining samples and no other oxygenates were detected at
or above the laboratory reporting limits.
{
12280.MON/ST03R524 Page 9 of 12
0 2003,Kleinfelder,Inc May 6,2003
