k4 KLEINFELDER
5.2. ANALYTICAL METHODS AND REPORTED RANGES
Each of the 6 groundwater samples were submitted for analysis. The following is a list of the
requested analyses and the reported ranges for groundwater samples obtained from the 6
monitoring wells;
• Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as gasoline [all non-detect-<50 ug/1]
• Benzene [all non-detect<0.50 ug/1]
• Toluene [all non-detect<0.50 ug/1]
• Ethylbenzene [all non-detect<0.50 ug/1]
• Xylene [all non-detect <0.50 ug/11
• 1,2 DCA [non-detect to 170 ug/1]
f • EDB. [all non-detect<0.50 ug/1]
• TBA [all non-detect<0.50 ug/1]
• MTBE [non-detect to 2.5 ug/1]
• DIPE [all non-detect<0.50 ug/1]
• ETBE [all non-detect <0.50 ug/1]
• TAME [all non-detect<0.50 ug/1]
For a summary of analytical data for the analytes listed above, please see Table 2 beneath the
"Tables"tab of this report.
1,2-DCA was detected in three of the six groundwater samples analyzed ranging from 0.66 ug/1
(MW-DIS-12) to 170 ug/1 (MW-11s). This sampling event marks the second time 1,2--DCA was
detected in MW-DIS-12 and the fourth consecutive sampling event in MW-14s. The remaining
three groundwater samples showed non-detect concentrations of 1,2-DCA at or above the
laboratory reporting limit(ND <0.5 ug/1). The PMCL for 1,2-DCA is 5 ug/l.
The six groundwater samples were also analyzed for the four oxygenates MTBE, D]PE, ETBE,
and TAME. MTBE was detected in the groundwater sample collected from MW-DIS-14s with a
concentration of 2.5 ug/l. This marks the third consecutive time that MTBE has been detected in
MW-DS-14s. MTBE was not detected in the remaining Eve samples. No other oxygenates
were detected at or above the laboratory reporting limits.
12280-MON/ST03R225 Page 9 of 12
'2003,Kleinfelder,Inc February 5,2003
