I
k'q KLEINFIELDER
The concentrations of toluene were also shown to increase in each of the monitoring
wells with the exception of SVE-south and NP-1-80', and remained steady in NP-1-
90'. The detected concentrations of toluene are below the PMCL for toluene in water
in monitoring well MW-DIS-2 and SVE-north. The remaining five detected
concentrations of toluene exceed the MCL for toluene in groundwater.
Similarly the concentrations of ethylbenzene detected appeared to rise in each
monitoring well with the exceptions of SVE-south. The detected concentrations of
ethylbenzene are below the PMCL for ethylbenzene in water in monitoring well
MW-DIS-2 and SVE-north. The remaining five detected concentrations of
ethylbenzene exceed the MCL for ethylbenzene in groundwater.
The concentrations of xylene appeared to rise in each monitoring well with the
exceptions of SVE-north and SVE-south where the concentration of xylene dropped
compared to last quarter. The detected concentration of xylene is below the PMCL
for xylene in water in monitoring well MW-DIS-2 and SVE-north. The remaining
five detected concentrations of xylene exceed the MCL for xylene in groundwater.
Toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene was not detected in any of the groundwater
sampled collected from the newly installed monitoring wells MW-DIS-11d, MW-
DIS-12,MW-DIS-13, MW-DIS-14, and MW-DIS-14d.
The oxygenates .(MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, TAME) or TBA were not detected in any of
the groundwater samples collected for laboratory analysis.
Kleinfelder recommends that monitoring of the site should be continued in accordance
with the "Groundwater Monitoring Frequency Decision Tree" established for Del Monte
by CH2M Hill (previous consultant) at this time.
A copy of this report should be submitted to the San Joaquin County Public Health
Services Department Environmental Health Division and the Central Valley Office of the
State of California Regional Water Quality Control Board by Del Monte, Inc. for their
review and consideration.
This report is subject to the limitations found in Chapter 7 of this report.
4
.
