SECTION 1 <br /> Introduction <br /> This report presents results of supplemental site characterization and monitoring well <br /> installation activities conducted by CH2M HILL for Del Monte Foods (Del Monte),at the <br /> Disco site in Stockton,California. This investigation was developed to provide additional <br /> characterization of 1,2 DCA and petroleum hydrocarbons in groundwater beneath, <br /> downgradient,and cross-gradient of the Disco property. Design and location of monitoring <br /> wells was based on results of the supplemental site characterization. <br /> This report plan is being submitted to San Joaquin County Public Health <br /> Services/Environmental Health Division(PHS/EHD).Del Monte is complying with the <br /> PHS/EHD requirements for site characterization and remediation activities,by the Health <br /> and Safety(H&S)Code Section 25299.37(b)(c)(6),to be eligible for reimbursement of <br /> corrective action costs from the State Water Resources Control Board Underground Storage <br /> Tank Cleanup Fund(USTCF).The investigation was described in further detail in the Work <br /> Plan for Additional CPT Investigation,Monitoring Well and Extraction Well Installation at the <br /> Disco Property Stockton,California (Work Plan) (CH2M HILL,2000). <br /> E 1.1 Objectives <br /> The objectives of this work were to: <br /> } • Define the lateral,vertical, and downgradient extent of 1,2 DCA in groundwater; <br /> • Install monitoring wells to provide vertical,cross-gradient and lateral monitoring points. <br /> Information obtained during this fieldwork will be used to determine the appropriate next <br /> steps,with respect to additional site activities and site remediation. <br /> 1.2 Report Organization <br /> The remainder of this report is organized as follows: <br /> 0 Section 2,Site Setting and Background <br /> • Section 3,Summary of Field Methodology <br /> • Section 4,Field Activities and Results <br /> o Section 5,Conclusions and Recommendations <br /> + Section 6,References <br /> E <br /> SFOICPTMW_REPORT KS_OOC1003670036 <br /> { <br />
