SECTION 4
Field Activities and Results
This section presents the field activities and results of the Disco Supplemental Investigation.
Analytical groundwater results are presented in Table 1.Well construction details are
presented in Table 2.CPT generated boring logs, monitoring well boring logs, well
completion diagrams, monitoring well field sampling sheets and well development reports
are included in Appendix A. Laboratory data sheets are included in Appendix B.
4.1 Field Activities
The field activities were conducted on various dates between August 7h and December 13,
2001.
The following is a brief account of the CPT boring activities that occurred within the
aforementioned dates:
• Seven CPT borings (CPT-16 through CPT-22) were installed between August 7th and
August 13th,2001,downgradient and cross-gradient of the site (Figure 4-1) to assess the
lateral extent of petroleum constituents in groundwater.
Borings for lithologic description were installed to the following depths:
• CPT-16,48,49,-20,and-21 was pushed to 150 feet bgs.
• CPT-17 was pushed to a depth of 144 feet bgs.
• CPT-22 was pushed to a total depth of 130 feet bgs.
Borings for collection of groundwater samples were installed after the lithologic CPT
borings.Successful sampling depths for each CPT boring can be found in Table 1.
• Two borings(CPT-23 and-24)were installed on September 22nd and 23rd,2001,
approximately 200 and 400 feet west of Filbert Street along the shoulder of Myrtle Street
(Figure 4-1)to assess the lateral and vertical extent of petroleum constituents in
groundwater. Borings for lithologic description were installed to 150 feet bgs.
Borings for collection of groundwater samples were installed after the lithologic CPT
borings. Exact sampling depths for each CPT boring can be found in Table 1.
The following is a brief account of the monitoring well boring activities that occurred within
the aforementioned dates.
• Four monitoring wells(MW-DIS-11 through MW-DIS-14)were installed between
October 29 and November 1,2001, to the following depths:
• MW-DIS-11 was installed to a depth of 93 feet bgs.
• MW-DIS-12 was installed to a depth of 91 feet bgs.
• MW-DIS-13 was installed to a depth of 90 feet bgs.
• MW-DIS-14 was installed to a depth of 110 feet bgs.
SFOICPTMW_REPORT_KS_.DOC1003670036 4.1
