L9 KLEINFELDER
? and 0.85 ppmv respectively at the inlet and 0.44 ppmv and non-detected at the outlet. This was
an approximately 37% decrease in TPH-g concentration, and 61% decrease in benzene
concentration at the inlet from the previous quarter. The destruction efficiency of the catalytic
oxidizer was calculated at 99%. The total estimated pounds of TPH-g removed during
I.
Kleinfelder's operation of the system is approximately 17,600 pounds (per date of the sampling).
Photoionization detector (FID) readings were logged from VE-1 on January 20, February 24, and
April 4, 2005 (no March reading due to unavailable extraction equipment). The PID instrument
is a handheld instrument used to measure the overall level of volatile organic compounds in the
airstream such as BTEX and hydrocarbons. The PID readings ranged in concentrations from 830
to 1000 before being user-terminated (high levels of VOCs may render the instrument
M inoperable).
GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS
i.
Kleinfelder recommends that a copy of this report be submitted to Mr. Mike Infurna of the San
Joaquin County Public Health Services Department Environmental Health Division (EHD) and
Mr. Jim Barton of the Central Valley Office of the State of California Regional Water Quality
Control Board(CVRWQCB) by Del Monte Foods for their review and consideration.
This report is subject to the limitations found in Chapter.7 of this report.
i
i
12280.M0N15T05R6131JZ:1y Page 3 of 13
©2005,Kleinfelder,Inc.
