01 September 2009
AGE-NC Project No. 09-1717
For the collection of grab ground water samples, the soil probe boring will be advanced to the top of
the ground water table. Once ground water has been encountered, a Geoprobe push-driven water
sampling device will be advanced two to three feet into the water-bearing zone.A grab ground water
sample will be collected using a Geoprobe water sampling assembly fitted with a pre-cleaned,
one-inch diameter 0.01-slotted temporary well screen. The ground water sample will be extracted
using inertial action by lowering Teflon tubing through the hollow center of the push rods into the
screen section.
Ground water sample containers are labeled with soil boring designation, date, time, and samplers
initials.Appropriately sealed and labeled samples will be placed into a chilled container under ice and
transported under chain-of-custody procedure to a CDPH-certified laboratory.
4.4. EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION
Prior to use,all sampling tools used for sample collection will be thoroughly rinsed with clean water
after being washed with a solution ofAlconox. All probing rods will be cleaned prior to advancement
at each probe boring location.
4.5. BORING ABANDONMENT
The probe borings will be permanently sealed to prevent vertical migration ofpotential contaminants.
Soil borings shall be abandoned by backfilling with portland cement from the total depth to surface
grade.
Advmiced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
