KLEINFELDER
6 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
On December 20, 21, and 22, 2004, seven monitoring wells were purged and sampled. Water
samples obtained from each location were submitted for chemical analysis.
Based on the data obtained during our assessment, the following conclusions and
recommendations have been formulated:
I. Groundwater flow direction at the site shifted towards the east/northeast with a
relatively flat gradient of approximately 0.0005 ft/ft this quarter from the previous
south and southeastern flow direction.
2. The seven downgradient well samples (MW-DIS-lls, MW-DIS-11d, MW-DIS-12,
MW-DIS-13, MW-DIS-14s, MW-DIS-14d and MW-DIS-15) all showed non-
detectable concentrations of TPH-g, BTEX, TBA, and EDB. Concentrations of 1,2-
DCA were detected in MW-DIS-11s, MW-DIS-14s, and MW-DIS-15. The 1,2-DCA
concentration in MW-DIS-I Is decreased approximately 60% from previous quarterly
results down to 73 ug/l. MW-DIS-14s continued to show a decreasing trend during
the 2004 monitoring period (down to 1.8 ug/l from 3.2 ug/1). It should be noted that
the concentration of 1,2-DCA reported for MW-DIS-15 was the lowest since
monitoring this location began (1.9 ug/1) at this location (as was the case in MW-
DIS-14s). The additional oxygenates MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, and TAME (MW-DIS-
15 was the only well analyzed for these constituents) were non-detectable at or above
the laboratory reporting limits.
3. The results of groundwater monitoring have been submitted to the "Geo Tracker'
system, as required by the RWQCB and EHD.
4. Kleinfelder recommends that monitoring of the site should be continued in
accordance with the "Groundwater Monitoring Frequency Decision Tree" at this
time.
5. A copy of this report should be submitted to the San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Department and the Central Valley Office of the State of California Regional
IWater Quality Control Board by Del Monte, Inc. for their review and consideration.
l
This report is subject to the limitations found in Chapter 7 of this report.
II
Ii
12280.M0N/ST05RI73/JZ:Iv Page 10 of i I
C 2005,Kleinfelder,Inc.
